I wrote it on Valentine's Day.
The phone is not going to ring, there is no call coming in for you.
Accept it, it may be Valentine’s Day but you’re not special enough for the person you thought you “connect” with or have“chemistry” with even bother to take his or her time and dial your number. We create these illusions in our minds, it’s a fictional state of the human being where for a second we believe everything is perfect and we create a Utopia because that’s what we see on TV, or we hear on the radio, couples kissing and children running in the park while their parents are playing Frisbee with the golden retriever. And we lie to ourselves a little more, and they continue to do it everyday, every morning before going to school or work and we tell ourselves repeatedly: “This year is going to be different; I’m going to find someone that loves me not like that last jerk who didn’t call me back”. Hey, I don’t blame you; it’s human nature and instinctive in us to set high standards on what are supposed to be beautiful dates, especially this one. We have to admit that in a world with billions of people not everyone can be happy and you might just be in the bunch of the “loners”, pilled up together in their little cages and the worst part is, they believe they are the only ones depressed or that feel “this way”. If you’re one of those, don’t worry. Life plays its cards randomly and orders might be flipped when you least expect it.
Embrace it, that’s life. There’s always a choice, a “yes” and a “no”, a “cold” or “hot”, and that’s the variety of life. I learned to see the beauty of the poles that exist all around the earth. While someone may be mourning for her recent loss another person may be getting her engagement ring, full of adrenaline and excitement for a new beginning.
So, what do I mean by this? Not because you best friend got stuffed animals in the mail and flowers at school means the same is happening to you. There’s not a fairy tale ending for everyone, people die everyday without knowing God, which I personally believe is one of the biggest disgrace; they die without a penny in their pockets or any wife or children that would pray for their soul and if they do have children, they hated him/her so much they desired that to have happened long time ago.
Valentine’s Day is a day to celebrate anyhow, celebrate your with someone (even if you’re conscious its temporary), celebrate if you only have your family by your side and even celebrate if you’re alone because at least you are not wrongly accompanied.
